Presence

The special few carry the warmth of the sun in their hearts

Their spark for life spreads into the hearts of everyone around them.

I remember one friend whose laughter was so warm that for a moment the darkness of the world would vanish and the light of their joy was all that I could see.

In this piece the Starlight Angel creates a space of safety where the souls can seek refuge. This being cannot completely remove the icy cold reality of the world but it provides enough support for people to grow stronger.

To me this is what real friendship looks like, people can't remove the thorn in your back for you but they can create space for you to grow strong enough to take it out yourself.

I will forever cherish the people in my life who have provided me with the necessary warmth to survive the hardships of life

Symbols

Open Heart

One key characteristic that these beautiful people tend to have is an openness to the world and a level of vulnerability that pulls people in. They have the courage to be stay open regardless of how much heartache that causes.

Flowers form around this open heart, all interconnected like the bonds these people weave.

Thorn

It's important to recognize that these people can't solve all of the world's problems; the thorn in the smaller beings' back is a reminder that life cant be magically fixed by these angelic souls.

When the smaller being recovers their strength they will be able to remove that thorn themselves.

Vines

This lower level is a reminder of how painful and complex life can be, especially when the Starlight Angel isn't around. Its wings are not there to protect you.

The skulls emerging from the center of the flowers symbolize the gratitude that can be felt when missing someone, at its core its painful but it can also be felt in a beautiful way.

Skulls

The corners of the image hint at the suffering that comes with losing one of these special friends, they are irreplaceable and that pain will not be forgotten easily.
